Vishay Intertechnology will present passive components, semiconductors, and reference designs for electric vehicle (EV) battery and power-conversion systems at The Battery Show North America 2026, October 12–15 in Detroit, MI (Booth 4807).
For battery monitoring and protection, the company will highlight AEC-Q200-qualified NTC thermistors designed to monitor temperatures in cells, modules, and packs. Vishay will also show resettable overcurrent protection devices for battery packs and charging circuits.
The semiconductor technologies include Gen 5 TrenchFET MOSFETs and Gen 3 MaxSiC silicon carbide (SiC) trench MOSFETs for high-voltage power conversion. Vishay will also present SiC Schottky diodes and rectifier technologies designed to reduce switching and conduction losses.
Automotive-qualified optoelectronic components will include isolated MOSFET drivers and devices for battery-cell balancing and leakage detection. The portfolio includes components rated for load voltages up to 1,500 V, as well as an optocoupler for automotive communication interfaces.
Vishay will also demonstrate reference designs for 400- and 800-V EV architectures. An active discharge circuit is designed to bring stored energy in dc-link capacitors to safe voltage levels, while a battery shunt sensor measures current and voltage across a wide temperature range without temperature compensation.
The technologies are intended for use across EV battery-management systems, onboard chargers, dc/dc converters, traction inverters, and high-voltage power architectures.
