Dukosi has introduced DK-NFLNK, a contactless communication solution for modular battery systems used in electric vehicles (EVs), industrial and marine applications, robotics, as well as other high-power battery applications..
The system is designed as an upgrade path for battery architectures built around traditional multi-channel analog front ends (AFEs). DK-NFLNK replaces conventional wiring and connectors with a single bus antenna while providing synchronous module-level measurements between the AFEs and BMS host.
At the module level, the DK8503 Node connects directly to the AFE through a standard SPI interface. Data is then transferred over Dukosi’s C-SynQ contactless communication protocol to the DK8203 System Hub and BMS host.
The near-field communication architecture reduces RF power requirements while providing electrical isolation across the network. The same BMS host processor and System Hub can also be reused across multiple battery pack designs.
A common software library and API are available across configurations to simplify development and maintenance. The DK8503 and DK8203 are AEC-Q100 certified and designed to be ASIL C compliant.
Dukosi has also released an evaluation kit for battery pack and BMS developers. It includes the hardware and software needed to evaluate the technology, connect it with supported AFEs and BMS host processors, and begin proof-of-concept development.
