ZF is expanding its electric driveline portfolio for commercial vehicles, with updates planned for its CeTrax 2 central drive and AxTrax 2 electric axle platforms.
The CeTrax 2 family is designed to electrify vehicles based on existing internal-combustion-engine architectures. According to the company, the upcoming versions will offer higher power levels, support additional vehicle applications, and add power take-off capability.
The AxTrax 2 electric axle, developed for dedicated electric vehicle (EV) platforms, is also being expanded with higher output torque to support greater gross combination weights.
ZF is also applying its electric drivetrain and braking technologies to electrified trailer concepts, while integrated vehicle controls coordinate the driveline, braking, and energy management systems to improve overall efficiency. It also continues to offer its TraXon 2 Hybrid transmission for heavy-duty applications where fully electric operation may not yet be practical.
ZF will present the technologies at IAA Transportation 2026, September 15-20, 2026, in Hanover, Germany.
