XING Mobility to showcase immersion-cooled EV battery systems at CES 2026

By Michelle Froese | December 29, 2025

XING Mobility announced that it will present its immersion-cooled battery technology at CES 2026, January 6th to 9th in Las Vegas, with a focus on electric vehicle (EV) applications and more. The company’s CES presence will highlight a decade of development in immersion-cooled battery systems designed for high-voltage automotive platforms, including 400 and 800-V architectures.

At CES 2026, XING Mobility will display Project V, an all-electric concept vehicle developed with the British sports car manufacturer Caterham and built around XING Mobility’s immersion-cooled battery technology.

The vehicle serves as a system-level demonstration of how immersion cooling can support high power density, thermal stability, and packaging efficiency in EV battery systems.

XING Mobility’s EV battery development has centered on immersion cooling as a method for managing heat at the cell level under demanding operating conditions. By immersing battery cells directly in an electrically insulating cooling fluid, the approach aims to maintain more uniform temperature control across the pack, reduce thermal gradients, and mitigate thermal runaway risks in high-voltage systems. These characteristics are increasingly relevant as EV platforms move toward higher charging power and sustained high-load operation.

The company began developing automotive-qualified battery systems in 2015. Over this period, XING Mobility reports completing vehicle durability testing, regulatory validation, and extreme-condition testing programs intended to evaluate insulation performance, electric shock protection, and thermal behavior under real-world use. This work informs the battery architecture used in Project V, which adopts a cell-to-pack configuration designed to reduce mass and improve packaging efficiency within a constrained vehicle layout.

Caterham’s Project V integrates XING Mobility’s immersion-cooled battery system to address thermal management and space limitations typical of lightweight, performance-oriented EV designs. The system is intended to support consistent power delivery and thermal stability without compromising vehicle dynamics. Caterham plans to unveil a production prototype of Project V at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026.

In addition to its EV-focused exhibits, XING Mobility will also reference applications of its immersion-cooled battery technology in stationary energy storage systems and high-voltage dc backup power modules. These systems apply similar thermal management and insulation principles developed for automotive use, adapted for non-vehicular operating environments.
