Lectron announced that its ac and DCdccharging adapters supporting NACS, J1772, and CCS have achieved UL 2252 certification. The certified products include NACS-to-J1772 and J1772-to-NACS ac adapters designed to support Level 1 and Level 2 charging interoperability across connector standards.
The certification expands on Lectron’s earlier dc fast-charging validation, in which its NACS to CCS and CCS to NACS adapters passed UL 2252 testing. With these adapters now certified, the portfolio spans the primary US charging interfaces used in residential, workplace, and public infrastructure applications.
As industry alignment continues toward NACS, formally designated as SAE J3400, third-party validation and compliance with safety and performance standards are increasingly important for OEMs and charging network operators.
UL 2252 certification addresses mechanical, electrical, and environmental performance requirements for EV charging couplers and adapters.
The UL 2252–certified adapters
- J1772 to NACS ac adapter: Supports charging of NACS-equipped vehicles from J1772 Level 1 and Level 2 ac charging equipment.
- NACS to J1772 ac adapter: Supports charging of J1772-equipped vehicles from NACS ac charging sources.
- CCS to NACS dc adapter: Supports dc fast charging of NACS-equipped vehicles from CCS charging infrastructure. Designed to align with SAE J3400 requirements.
- NACS to CCS dc adapter (Vortex Plus): Supports dc fast charging of CCS-equipped vehicles from NACS-based dc charging systems. Incorporates an interlock design intended to maintain connector engagement under load.
