U.S. Energy announced the introduction of Volt Vault Lite, a new model within its Volt Vault EV charging product line. Volt Vault Lite is designed as a smaller, more mobile alternative to the Volt Vault Classic and is capable of operating on propane in addition to other fuel sources.
Traditional EV charging infrastructure often requires long lead times and coordination with utilities to address grid capacity constraints. Volt Vault Lite is intended to provide fleets with a temporary or flexible charging option that can be deployed independently of permanent electrical infrastructure.
Features include:
- A mobile solution built into a 22-foot trailer that can be relocated using a mid-sized pickup truck
- Flexible fuel options, including propane, utility natural gas, and renewable natural gas (RNG)
- Two Level 3 dc fast-charging ports with output up to 60 kW
- Predictable operating costs through a consistent cost per kilowatt-hour
-
An estimated four-month lead time for delivery
Volt Vault Lite is positioned to complement the Volt Vault Classic, particularly for use cases where permanent charging infrastructure is unavailable, impractical, or only required for limited durations.
According to the company, Volt Vault systems are currently deployed across multiple U.S. states, supporting fleet charging needs in locations where traditional EV charging infrastructure may be difficult to implement within desired timelines.
