These smart EV chargers add OCPP support for residential and fleet use

By Michelle Froese | September 19, 2025

MSI, known for its computing hardware, has introduced the EV Life and EV Life Plus chargers as part of its new electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) product line.

Designed for residential and commercial environments, the chargers support hardwired or plug-and-play installation via a NEMA 14-50 outlet, making them suitable for new builds, as well as retrofits. Both models deliver up to 14.4 kW (60A) of charging power and are compatible with Type 1 (SAE J1772) and Tesla’s NACS connectors.

They’re rated for operation in extreme temperatures (-40° to 131° F) and built to withstand outdoor use with IP55/IP67 water and dust resistance and IK08 impact protection.

The EV Life model provides app-based control via MSI’s aConnect app, enabling scheduling, current adjustment, and usage tracking. The EV Life Plus adds features such as RFID authentication, Wi-Fi/Ethernet connectivity, and OCPP 1.6J support, aligning it with commercial charging requirements.

By combining high power output, environmental resilience, and smart connectivity, MSI’s chargers are positioned as practical solutions for a range of EV charging scenarios, from home driveways to fleet applications.
