Wallbox, a global provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging and energy management solutions, announced that its Supernova 180-kW dc fast chargers will power the new public charging network being developed by SureCharge Corp. across Alberta and British Columbia.
The project will deliver up to 24 high-speed charging sites with 96 charging points along major travel corridors in Western Canada, creating a significant new fast charging hub for the region.
SureCharge is leading the rollout, with SureTek Electric & Technologies, a certified Wallbox partner with deep EV infrastructure expertise. It will be responsible for installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.
The initiative is supported by over $4.7 million in funding from the Government of Canada through Natural Resources Canada’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program, as well as $400,000 from the Government of British Columbia in partnership with Natural Resources Canada. Together, these investments underscore Canada’s commitment to expanding public EV charging access.
Each site will feature Wallbox’s Supernova, the company’s flagship public fast charging solution, capable of delivering up to 180 kW of power to support long-distance travel. Built for scalability and efficiency, Supernova provides reliable charging experiences while reducing total cost of ownership for operators.
