Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has partnered with Treehouse to support home charging installation for 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs).
Treehouse provides Level 2 ac home charger project scoping, permitting, and installation services. The process includes virtual site assessment using customer-submitted photos and survey information, followed by a single onsite visit for hardware installation. Installation quotes are typically provided within 48 hours.
Treehouse coordinates licensed electricians to assess and, if necessary, upgrade residential electrical systems to support home EV charging.
All 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus BEVs and PHEVs include a dual-voltage 120V/240-V ac charging cable, enabling Level 1 or Level 2 charging. The cable provides up to 7.7-kW output, allowing overnight charging from approximately 10% state of charge under typical conditions.
Although dual-voltage charging cables are required for BEVs sold in California and other ZEV states, Toyota has included this hardware with BEVs since the 2024 model year and will include it with PHEVs beginning in the 2026 model year nationwide.
Owners can enable Level 2 charging by installing a 240-V outlet. The dual-voltage charging cable carries a three-year warranty for Toyota vehicles and four years for Lexus vehicles.
A hardwired ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger is also available through Treehouse. The unit can reduce charging time compared with portable charging cables, depending on vehicle configuration and installation parameters. It’s available with an SAE J3400 (NACS) connector for 2026 and newer BEVs or an SAE J1772 connector for earlier BEV and PHEV models. Treehouse provides a two-year installation warranty, and ChargePoint provides a three-year hardware warranty.
Toyota stated that the partnership is intended to simplify the home charging process for customers purchasing electrified vehicles.
