Phoenix Contact now offers ac charging cables for electric vehicles (EVs) based on the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
Designed for Level 1 and Level 2 chargers, the CHARX AC charging cables can be used in both home and public EV charging stations, such as parking garages, business parking lots, or rest stops.
Since it was standardized as SAE J3400 in 2023, NACS has quickly become the preferred charging standard in North America. Phoenix Contact’s NACS AC charging cables comply with SAE J3400 and are also certified in accordance with UL 2251.
The charging cables have an IP67 protection rating when plugged in and are available in power ratings of 50 and 80 A with a rated voltage of 250-V AC. Optional temperature sensors in the cables can provide monitoring during the charging process.
The ergonomic charging cables have an offset handle for comfort. The design also decouples the heat from the handling/gripping surfaces for user safety.
