RAPID 60 is an award-winning electric mobility innovation

By Michelle Froese | March 20, 2024

Ingeteam‘s RAPID 60 electric vehicle charger is a fast-charging solution, designed to withstand the most demanding outdoor conditions. This is thanks to its galvanized steel or stainless steel construction. The result: a compact, quiet, lightweight unit with a modern design and simple lines.

The absence of rear ventilation slots enables installation against a wall or back-to-back with another RAPID 60. The main design premise was to achieve a silent device, enabling installation in closed or urban spaces. The charger also includes a retractable cable management system, for enhanced comfort of use.

RAPID 60 incorporates credit card readers, parking sensors, Plug & Charge technology, power management between outputs (between multiple dc and ac devices), and dynamic balancing with other loads at each installation. The unit also has a 10.1″ multi-language touch screen, dual Ethernet ports with switch mode, as well as RGB LEDs indicating the unit’s status on hose brackets and the unit’s crown.

Optionally, it can be equipped with a contactless bank card reader, 4G, connector locking, and the cloud manager system.

For these reasons, the RAPID 60 recently won the German Design Award for its clean and modern design. Specifically, the product won the award for “Excellent Product Design” in the “Energy” category from the German non-profit organization the German Design Council – Rat für Formgebung, by a jury comprised of 36 people from different business fields.

Previous recipients of the award have included designs by BMW or Apple, and the award has been awarded annually for different products since 1953.
