Precision Micro has been selected as the exclusive supplier of a function and safety-critical component in the hydrogen recirculation blower of next-generation fuel cell-electric vehicle powertrains.
This component is key in recirculating unused hydrogen within the fuel cell system, optimizing efficiency and performance.
To meet strict requirements for flatness, cleanliness, and tight tolerances, the component will be produced using Precision Micro’s photochemical etching process. This advanced manufacturing technique enables high-precision production, making it the only viable solution for achieving the necessary specifications.
Production will follow a single-sourcing model to ensure consistent quality and supply throughout the product’s lifecycle. Precision Micro will maintain adherence to the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 standard, supporting reliability and performance in critical hydrogen applications.
This milestone aligns with Precision Micro’s commitment to sustainable and innovative technologies, supported by a recent $1.8 million investment in expanding its chemical etching capacity. The collaboration underscores the increasing role of hydrogen in clean energy and highlights the importance of advanced manufacturing techniques in accelerating decarbonization efforts.
