Upcell Alliance, a non-profit association focused on advancing the battery manufacturing ecosystem, has announced the launch of TOGETHER, an open consortium designed to accelerate the global deployment of battery gigafactories.
The initiative brings together industrial partners across the battery value chain, from cell manufacturing and pack assembly to process equipment and recycling. The aim is to deliver adaptable, turnkey solutions for large-scale battery production.
The effort aligns with growing global demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and the need for localized, efficient manufacturing capacity.
By streamlining collaboration among automation providers, material suppliers, and equipment manufacturers, TOGETHER seeks to reduce bottlenecks in the gigafactory buildout process and strengthen regional battery supply chains that support EV production.
Backed by Upcell’s network of more than 150 member organizations, the consortium introduces a supplier-neutral model guided by end-user input and performance-based criteria. Its flexible engagement approach allows participants to contribute at varying levels, from consultancy to full project management.
The TOGETHER initiative was formally presented at the inaugural Upcell North America event, held October 24, 2025, in Reno, Nevada. The event brought together industry leaders and policymakers to discuss strategies for scaling sustainable battery manufacturing for the growing EV market.
