New wireless EV charging system uses above-ground charging pad

By Michelle Froese | September 14, 2026

Electreon Wireless Ltd. will present its new Lite DOT stationary wireless charging system this week at IAA Transportation 2026, taking place September 14 to 20 in Hannover, Germany. The system is designed for electric passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

Lite DOT delivers up to 11 kW of charging power and uses an above-ground charging pad paired with a wall-mounted unit. The system is designed to begin charging automatically once a compatible vehicle is positioned over the pad.

The charging system operates with a vehicle-specific receiver supplied by Electreon or automotive industry partners. Electreon says the above-ground pad can be installed without extensive excavation, which can reduce installation requirements at parking locations.

Lite DOT is designed for indoor and outdoor use and is rated for operation in rain, snow, and temperatures ranging from -30° to +50° C.

The system is intended to support stationary charging during normal parking periods, including fleet applications where repeated use of cables and connectors can add maintenance requirements. By using wireless power transfer, the system removes the need for manual cable connection during charging.

Electreon is introducing Lite DOT at IAA Transportation 2026 as part of its wireless charging portfolio.
