ChargePoint, a provider of networked charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs), has opened five new ultra-fast EV charging sites in upstate New York.
The ChargePoint mobile app lets drivers locate, access, and pay for charging at these sites.
Supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the stations are located in Cortland, Waterloo, Lake Placid, Niagara Falls, and Ripley.
Through its Clean Transportation program, NYSERDA enables the build-out of critical EV charging infrastructure across New York State, reducing the capital investment needed to deploy public charging sites. This includes building out access in underserved communities, defined as disadvantaged communities by New York State’s Climate Justice Working Group.
Half of the fast-charging stations funded through this program will be located in communities designated as disadvantaged.
