Greenlane has introduced a branded digital technology suite as part of the I-15 Commercial EV Charging Corridor project. The suite includes an online mobile app and a fleet management portal, which will be implemented in phases to support commercial and public electric vehicle (EV) charging needs.
The system includes:
- Greenlane Driver App: This app provides truck drivers with real-time information on available charging stations along their routes, allowing them to reserve charging slots in advance or access and manage reservations made by fleet managers.
- Greenlane Fleet Portal: This tool enables fleet managers and dispatchers to plan and manage routes for their electric fleets from one convenient portal. Customers can register their trucks, manage account information, view charger locations, and make reservations to increase efficiency and ease range anxiety for drivers.
- Greenlane OnRamp APIs: This technology integrates with existing fleet solutions, providing fleet managers and drivers access to optimized routes, efficient charging and refuelling schedules, related charging data, and emissions savings to track sustainability efforts. It also allows for the integration into vehicle original equipment manufacturer’s e-Mobility Service Provider driver applications and, eventually, in-dash systems.
- New website: The updated platform enhances the customer experience, showcasing Greenlane’s chargers and digital tools built to support medium- and heavy-duty fleet operations.
Greenlane’s charging sites will include pull-through lane chargers with Alpitronic CCS 400-kW dual-port chargers, designed for faster charging with oil-cooled cables. For bobtail charging, eFill CCS 180 kW chargers will be available, incorporating energy management features for fleet operations. ABB’s SCADA system will enable remote monitoring and breaker management to improve reliability and efficiency.
The sites will also use Trenwa precast cable trenching to support future expansion and potential upgrades to megawatt charging as fleet demand increases.
Greenlane’s charging site in Colton, California, is currently under construction and expected to open in April. The construction of the site is led by Mortenson, drawing on their previous experience in large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. The site will initially feature more than 40 chargers for heavy, medium, and light-duty zero-emission vehicles.
In a later phase, solar panels and battery storage systems will be added to improve grid stability, manage peak loads, and enhance energy efficiency.
