New rewards program for Virginia EV drivers

By Michelle Froese | June 28, 2024

Dominion Energy and WeaveGrid, an electric vehicle management system (EVMS) provider, recently announced a new collaboration offering Virginia-based Tesla drivers the opportunity to earn rewards while helping to manage peak energy demand on the electric grid.

Through the Electric Vehicle Telematics program, participants can receive a $40 annual gift card simply by enrolling their Tesla and allowing automatic adjustments to their charging during periods of high electricity demand.

“The EV Telematics program is a win-win for everyone involved,” said Dave Bend, VP of Business Development and Client Growth at WeaveGrid. “Tesla drivers can earn incentives while helping Dominion Energy manage the grid, and the environment benefits from reduced energy consumption during peak demand periods.”

The program is designed to be easy and convenient for participants, with features including:

  • Peak demand smart charging: Enables automatic adjustments to charging during periods of high electricity demand, with the ability to override and charge if needed.
  • Personalized insights: Gain access to valuable data on your charging habits and costs.
  • A $40 annual reward: Receive a gift card for staying enrolled and connected for a year.

To be eligible for the program, participants must be a Dominion Energy customer residing in Virginia, drive a Tesla electric vehicle, and charge at home.
