Dragonfly Energy, a manufacturer of energy storage systems and maker of Battle Born Batteries, has been awarded US Patent No. 12,341,149 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
This newly issued patent covers the company’s breakthrough non-flammable, all-solid-state battery design, marking a significant milestone in Dragonfly Energy’s mission to manufacture safe, high-performance lithium batteries in the United States.

The charge and discharge process of a LiFePo4 battery works by moving Lithium Ions across the electrolyte while electrons pass through the circuit.
This innovation represents a key advancement for electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems, where safety, scalability, and performance are critical. By replacing liquid electrolytes with a solid-state design, Dragonfly Energy’s technology mitigates thermal runaway, enabling more stable battery performance even under extreme conditions.
The patented design is fully compatible with lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) chemistry and is engineered for simplified manufacturing using Dragonfly Energy’s proprietary dry electrode processing method. This approach reduces complexity and cost while improving scalability for mass production.
This newly issued patent expands Dragonfly Energy’s growing intellectual property portfolio, now totaling over 55 issued and pending patents, and strengthens the company’s position at the forefront of advanced battery innovation in the United States.
