VI-grade, part of HBK’s Virtual Test Division, has entered into a partnership with MoBeLIV, a specialist in electric drive simulation. Under the agreement, HBK and its affiliates, including VI-grade, will act as resellers of MoBeLIV software solutions, extending their availability to a global customer base.
Electrified powertrain development requires consideration of additional factors such as flux and magnet temperature, as well as stronger links between simulation, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), and test stand results. By combining HBK’s test systems with MoBeLIV’s simulation tools, engineers will be able to validate and align results more efficiently across these environments.
MoBeLIV’s portfolio includes multiphysics modelling of electric motors and drives, covering electromagnetic and thermal behavior, as well as real-time digital twins for system integration and control strategy validation. Its DOTS (Digital Off The Shelf) motor and drive models enable fast deployment of realistic component representations, supporting engineers working on durability testing, inverter development, and overall system efficiency improvements.
“Customers want to understand and bridge the gap between simulation and measurement,” said Mitchell Marks, Director of Automotive Strategy and Business Development at HBK. “MoBeLIV’s expertise in test-informed modelling and real-time simulations enables more advanced evaluation of electric motors, complementing HBK’s test portfolio with simulation tools that directly integrate test data.”
More information on MoBeLIV’s electric powertrain solutions is available through HBK’s Electric Motor Testing and VI-grade’s real-time vehicle modelling platforms.
