New measurement probe for improved dry room control

By Michelle Froese | June 3, 2025

Vaisala has introduced the DMP1 Dew Point and Temperature Probe to support precise environmental monitoring in dry manufacturing spaces, such as lithium-ion battery production areas. With dew point measurement capability down to -70° C and a fast response time, the compact DMP1 is optimized for dry room applications.

The DMP1 is designed for dry room environments, including those used in the production of electric vehicle (EV) batteries, where even minimal humidity can compromise the integrity and performance of lithium-ion cells.

By ensuring consistent dew point levels, the probe supports the quality and reliability of battery manufacturing processes.

It also integrates with centralized production, safety, and quality monitoring systems and is part of Vaisala’s Indigo ecosystem. The probe is compatible with Indigo300 transmitters for data visualization and output, as well as the Indigo80 handheld device for field maintenance. Its modular design and interchangeable probes reduce downtime and simplify service.

The DMP1 is engineered for measurement stability and extended calibration intervals, with low maintenance requirements. It also withstands accidental humidity spikes caused by environmental or operational factors.

With fast measurement response, the DMP1 enables earlier detection of dew point deviations, allowing control systems to react promptly to changing conditions in dry rooms. This contributes to improved process control, product consistency, and safety in battery production environments.
