New inverter technology advances motor control for EVs

By Michelle Froese | September 18, 2025

izmomicro, a division of izmo Ltd., has introduced a galvanic isolated hex-bridge inverter with integrated controller and drivers for three-phase Servo/BLDC motors. The system is designed for applications requiring compact, efficient, and safe motor control, including electric vehicles (EVs), aerospace, and defense.

The inverter delivers 100 amps of continuous current at 48 Vdc while maintaining galvanic isolation for safety and system reliability.

It integrates power electronics, isolation technology, and motor control logic into a single unit, which required engineering attention across domains such as thermal stability, EMI suppression, current handling, and safety design.

Initial units have already been deployed in a public sector manufacturing environment, demonstrating performance in mission-critical applications.

Motor controllers like this are becoming central to India’s expanding EV and energy ecosystems, where high-efficiency, high-safety solutions are needed to support rapid adoption.

The global power electronics market is projected to exceed USD 40 billion by 2030, with growth heavily influenced by EVs and renewable energy. In India, the EV sector is forecast to grow at a 49% CAGR between 2023 and 2030, making reliable motor control systems a critical enabling technology.
