New high-power 19.2 kW liquid-cooled onboard charger

By Michelle Froese | October 3, 2025

Bel Fuse Inc., a global manufacturer of products that power, protect, and connect electronic circuits, has introduced the BCF19-700-8, a 19.2-kW liquid-cooled on-board battery charger for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and full electric vehicles (EVs) as part of the Bel Power Solutions portfolio.

The high-efficiency ac charger supports an output voltage range of 450 to 900 Vdc, covering a wide spectrum of high-voltage (HV) batteries. Delivering up to 18 kW of output power with a typical full-load efficiency of 94%, the charger includes protection against over-temperature, output over-voltage, and over-current.

A CAN bus serial interface enables reliable monitoring and control through seamless onboard communication.

The BCF19-700-8 can draw power directly from standard EVSE charging stations and the public grid in custom systems, including single-phase or split-phase 100–277 Vac.

“We designed this liquid-cooled battery charger to meet the critical demands of today’s HEV and EV manufacturers,” said Frank Vondenhoff, global director eMobility, Product & Business Development. “Its 19.2 kW output, high efficiency, and wide voltage accelerate charging times and ensure compatibility with a broad spectrum of HV battery systems, giving our customers the performance and flexibility they need to innovate in a rapidly evolving market.”

The unit is engineered for reliable performance and seamless integration with HV battery systems. Compliance with standards such as SAE J1939 and UL 2202 ensures safety and reliability, addressing the requirements of system integrators and vehicle manufacturers.
