New high-efficiency ac/dc power solution supports EV charging

By Michelle Froese | February 20, 2025

RECOM has launched the RAC20NE-K/277 series, a high-efficiency ac/dc power supply solution designed to operate over a wide input range from 100VAC to 277 VAC. With 20 W of power available at optional 12 V, 24 V, or 36 Vdc outputs, the series is well-suited for energy management systems and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The RAC20NE-K/277 series is available in encapsulated and open-frame versions to meet diverse application needs. The encapsulated models feature constant voltage or constant current limiting characteristics, while the open-frame versions, equipped with Molex connections, offer constant voltage outputs at 12V or 24VDC.

Engineered for reliability, the RAC20NE-K/277 series ensures full-load operation in ambient temperatures up to 60°C and supports derating up to 85° C. The power supplies are Class II insulated, OVC III rated to 3000m altitude (5000m for OVC II), and comply with EN 55032 ‘Class B’ EMC standards with a floating or grounded output.

Additionally, standby and no-load power dissipation meet Eco-design efficiency requirements.

Designed for compact integration, the board-mount, encapsulated models measure 52.5 x 27.6 x 23.0mm, while the open-frame versions are 80.0 x 23.8 x 22.5mm, making them ideal for space-constrained applications.

With a wide input range and high transient immunity, the RAC20NE-K/277 series provides a versatile and cost-effective solution for emerging energy applications, including EV charging, energy monitoring, and industrial control systems.
