New high-current shielded power inductors offer high efficiency and low radiation

By Michelle Froese | March 25, 2025

Bourns, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, recently announced its HRP3822X and HRP5022X Series Shielded Power Inductors.

These high-current power inductors feature low DC resistance (DCR) and shielded construction to help minimize electromagnetic radiation.

Designed to support stable current flow and enhance efficiency in high-power applications, these inductors are well-suited for use in industrial high-current filters, battery charging systems, and DC-DC converters.

Their combination of low DCR, high saturation current, and robust thermal performance also makes them suitable for electric vehicle power systems, where efficient and reliable power conversion is critical.

Both the HRP3822X and HRP5022X Series use a metal alloy powder core to deliver high saturation current capability. The series are offered with an inductance range of 0.68 to 3.3 µH, DCR values from 0.11 to 0.42 mΩ, and support an operating temperature range of -40° to +125° C, making them applicable in a wide range of environmental and thermal conditions.

The Bourns HRP Series Shielded Power Inductors are available now and are RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
