New fireproofing technology for safer EV battery production facilities

By Michelle Froese | January 28, 2025

Isolatek International, a global provider of passive fireproofing solutions, has introduced FireSolve SB, a solvent-based intumescent fireproofing product designed for durability, application efficiency, and environmental safety.

The development of FireSolve aligns with the growing demands of emerging industries, including electric vehicle (EV) battery production facilities.

FireSolve offers:

  • Low thickness and improved surface finish: Delivers safe fire protection with minimal coating thickness, enabling cost-efficient and aesthetically pleasing applications.
  • Application efficiencies: Provides resistance to impact, abrasion, and moisture in a single-component solvent-based intumescent coating with dry-fall characteristics, reducing waste and streamlining project timelines.
  • Low VOC solvent: Features the industry’s lowest VOC solvent for a solvent-based product, meeting environmental safety standards.
  • Full-scale testing and no red list ingredients: Tested for up to four hours of fire protection per ASTM E 119, UL 263, and ULC S101, and free from 2024 ILFI Red List Materials, ensuring occupant and environmental safety.

FireSolve highlights Isolatek International’s commitment to innovation and its comprehensive range of passive fireproofing solutions, including spray-applied, intumescent, and rigid board fireproofing products.
