The first ultra-fast EV charging hub in the Eastern United States has been completed in Deerfield, Massachusetts, marking a significant step forward in regional EV infrastructure.
The hub is designed to support faster, more reliable EV charging to meet the growing demand for electric mobility.
At the heart of the hub is Autel’s MaxiCharger HiPower solution, which includes high-power dc charging units capable of delivering up to 640 kW, enabling vehicles to charge in as little as 20 minutes — addressing key concerns around charging speed and range anxiety.
These units, manufactured domestically, are a collaboration between the Town of Deerfield, Rivermoor Energy, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and Autel Energy‘s partner Rexel Energy Solutions. They highlight the integration of innovation and local economic support.
Strategically located along major highways, the hub addresses critical gaps in EV charging infrastructure, ensuring convenience for long-distance travelers while supporting the town’s sustainability and economic growth initiatives.
Additional features, such as advanced cloud software for real-time monitoring and user-friendly payment systems, enhance the driver experience. This project reflects ongoing efforts to expand access to high-speed EV charging, promoting the transition to cleaner energy and more sustainable transportation solutions.
