Pioneer Power Solutions, a company focused on the design, manufacture, and integration of distributed energy resources and mobile electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has announced an award valued at approximately $10 million from a leading US-based Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) provider.
The project includes the delivery of approximately $2 million worth of equipment in 2025, with the remainder expected to be fulfilled in 2026 and 2027. The award represents an expansion of the two companies’ ongoing collaboration in deploying on-demand EV charging infrastructure.
Pioneer’s mobile EV charging platforms are designed to support vehicle electrification in areas where grid access is delayed, limited, or unavailable. These solutions enable faster deployment of charging services and are intended to address infrastructure-related challenges in fleet electrification.
The project includes the deployment of a mobile Charging-as-a-Service (mCaaS) solution offering 180 to 500 kW of independent dc fast charging capacity. The system integrates energy management features and a clean-energy microgrid, allowing for the simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles without reliance on local utility infrastructure.
Initial deployment is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with full rollout continuing through 2026 and 2027. The award supports the expansion of the CaaS provider’s footprint beyond its existing 30 US metro markets, with additional activity planned in Canada and Mexico.
The project aligns with broader industry efforts to scale charging capacity for private fleets, municipalities, transit agencies, and school bus operators.
