New 1500 A current transducer for EV test and battery validation

By Michelle Froese | February 20, 2026

Danisense has expanded its DN1000ID current transducer family with the introduction of the DN1000ID-CP02, a high-precision dc current transducer designed for demanding applications including electric vehicle (EV) test benches and battery evaluation systems.

EV platforms continue to increase power density and current levels in traction inverters, battery packs, and charging systems, which means accurate, high-current measurement is critical for validation, efficiency analysis, and performance optimization.

The DN1000ID-CP02 supports dc and ac RMS current measurement up to 1500 A peak and 1000 A continuous, with linearity error below 1 ppm.

The transducer features a large aperture and removable isolation insert to accommodate wide cable terminals commonly used in high-current EV and energy storage applications. It offers overrange capability of 1200-A RMS for up to 30 minutes, supporting transient testing conditions typical in inverter and battery cycling environments.

Based on Danisense’s closed-loop flux gate technology, the DN1000ID-CP02 delivers low offset and minimal drift over time. Noise performance remains below 1 ppm RMS in frequencies up to 10 kHz, enabling high-resolution current monitoring in dynamic test scenarios.

The unit is designed for integration into EV power measurement systems, battery testing and evaluation platforms, and precision current calibration environments. Additional applications include power analysis and other high-stability measurement installations.
