Machine vision and AI inspection solutions for batteries

By Michelle Froese | October 2, 2025

senswork, a provider of machine vision and AI solutions for battery manufacturing, will showcase its inspection technologies at The Battery Show in Detroit (Booth 4028). Attendees will see live demonstrations of how the company applies high-precision optical inspection systems for battery production.

A featured demonstration will be the 3D measurement of a round cell module, showing how inline inspection systems support dimensional and geometric verification for cells, modules, and packs in prismatic and round cell formats.

The company’s portfolio for the battery industry includes:

  • Pre-weld terminal inspection for modules and packs
  • Safety vent and bursting disc 2D and 3D inspection
  • Pre-weld pack and module inspection
  • Dimensional and geometric verification
  • Distance measurement of individual cells, packs, or modules
  • 3D inline measurement of busbars
  • Weld quality verification

These systems are designed for integration into production lines to support manufacturers in meeting safety and quality requirements without reducing throughput.

“Machine vision combined with AI enables early detection of defects in battery manufacturing,” said Rainer Obergrussberger, CEO, senswork. “With both 2D and 3D inspection capabilities, these systems provide manufacturers with tools to strengthen quality and reliability.”
