EV Edison has launched a new electric vehicle (EV) charging and fleet services hub in Kearny, New Jersey. Located near the Port of Newark, the Holland Tunnel, and major interstate corridors, the site is designed to support the electrification of commercial fleets and logistics operations across the Northeast.
Phase 1 of the project features 30 high-power charging ports, each capable of delivering 180 kW, making it one of the largest multi-class charging hubs on the East Coast. Future phases will include expanded charging capacity and support services.
The hub offers a range of operational features for EV fleet operators, including:
- 24/7 high-security access
- Truck parking and staging
- Food and beverage services
- Driver lounge and flexible office space
- Public passenger vehicle charging
The site is already being used by electric freight operator Einride, which is staging its trucks at the facility and offering regional transport services using its electric and autonomous vehicle platforms.
The infrastructure supports heavy-duty EV charging and is designed to accommodate high-throughput fleet operations, with capacity to manage hundreds of daily sessions. The modular layout also enables integration of additional services, offices, and logistics functions as needed.
Built on land developed by Hugo Neu Realty, the site reflects regional goals of sustainable industrial redevelopment and clean transportation infrastructure. Agencies and stakeholders across New Jersey’s clean energy, utilities, and transportation sectors have identified the project as a step toward advancing the state’s EV adoption goals.
The Kearny facility is expected to play a strategic role in supporting zero-emission logistics, especially ahead of high-demand events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Future expansion is planned for the greater New York metropolitan area.
EV Edison is continuing to engage with fleet operators, lessors, and real estate owners interested in hosting or accessing high-power EV charging infrastructure.
