Hypercraft unveiling precision-engineered EV powertrains at SEMA

By Michelle Froese | October 25, 2023

Hypercraft, a pioneering electric vehicle (EV) powertrain manufacturing and engineering company, announced that it will unveil 18 complete and fully configurable electric powertrain systems for the racing, street, commercial, marine, and defense industries at SEMA EV and Future Propulsion Show in Las Vegas. The show takes place October 31st to November 3rd.

The company has also announced the launch of its inaugural Product Catalog, detailing Hypercraft’s 70 EV propulsion products, which include Hypercraft Range Components:

  • HyperPacks (Battery Packs)
  • Charger Packages and Power Distribution
  • Hypercraft EV Propulsion Options: Vehicle Thermal Systems, PRND, Throttles, Displays and Gear Reduction Systems.

“The amount of engineering and development progress we’ve made since Hypercraft’s inception is astounding,” said Hypercraft’s VP of Direct Sales, Kirk Miller. “We’ve grown at a break-neck speed and are eager to share our versatile installation options and powertrains with top builders and manufacturers in the EV conversion market segment. Everything we’ll show at SEMA is either shipping now or set to hit shelves in the coming months.”

In addition, SEMA show attendees will find numerous Hypercraft customer vehicles on the trade show floor. This includes:

  • Elkington Electric 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Located at Battle of the Builders Hypercraft Powertrain Package: S1000Di Specs: 850 Kilowatt / 1,140 Horsepower; 1,240 Newton-Meters / 914 Pound-Feet Torque; and 800 Volt HyperPack
  • Chassis-Only: Elkington Electric 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Located at the FutureTech Studio Hypercraft Powertrain Package: S1000Di Specs: 850 Kilowatt / 1140 Horsepower; 1,240 Newton-Meters / 914 Pound-Feet Torque; and 800 Volt HyperPack
  • Chassis-Only: 1957 Chevrolet Corvette built by Scared Shiftless Hypercraft Booth #24713 Bespoke Hypercraft Powertrain S500SP Specs: 375 Kilowatt / 500 Horsepower; 500 Newton-Meters / 368 Pound-Feet Torque; 80 Kilowatt-Hour 800 Volt HyperPack
  • SIERRA ECHO BASE SierraCars Booth #24618 Hypercraft Powertrain Package R300Si Specs: 225 Kilowatt / 306 Horsepower; 500 Newton-Meters / 368 Pound-Feet Torque, 18 Kilowatt-Hour 400 Volt HyperPack

Of Hypercraft’s 18 EV powertrains, three fully-built powertrain options will be on display in its booth, including the S300Si for Street, C335St for Commercial and D250S for Defense. Committed to EV education for all, Hypercraft’s 2023 Product Catalog includes a detailed glossary of EV terms, a supplement developed to support its EV 101 classes held in Provo, UT, and made available to the public for builders of all experience levels.

This year marks Hypercraft’s third season at SEMA. In 2022, the company was named a top 15-semi finalist in the SEMA Launchpad competition, where CEO and Co-Founder Jake Hawksworth presented its modular HyperPac EV battery system. In 2021, Hypercraft used SEMA to unveil plans for the world’s first EV desert race truck, developed with Geiser Brothers, a world leader in building race-proven championship-winning, off-road car and truck chassis.
