EVBox, a provider in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, recently released EVBox Livo 2, which can solar charge in two ways:

Via a third-party home energy management system
Via EVBox’s Dynamic Load Balancing kit and the EVBox Everon app

EVBox Livo was originally launched in 2022 with several smart charging features, including the capability to solar charge via an EEBUS-compatible home energy management system.

EVBox Livo 2 is ideal for homeowners looking to optimize their energy consumption with just solar panels and an EV. By combining the EVBox Livo 2 with the Dynamic Load Balancing kit, EV drivers can take control over their solar charging.

When using EVBox’s charging management software app (EVBox Everon) with the EVBox Livo 2, homeowners can choose from three different charging modes:

Full power: Charges at the maximum power using both solar and grid power
Hybrid: Charges using solar power supplemented by grid power only when needed
Full solar: Charges with solar power only

Pairing with a third-party energy management system to solar charge is best for homeowners that also want to optimize other large energy loads in their home, such as heat pumps, air conditioning, or a stationary battery.

Both EVBox Livo and EVBox Livo 2 are capable of integrating with an energy management system which supports EEBUS.
