Advanced Conversion, a wholly owned subsidiary of ETI, has introduced a new film capacitor rated for operation at temperatures up to 200° C. It has been designed, qualified, and tested for use in demanding environments requiring high thermal stability and reliability.
The new capacitor maintains capacitance stability and supports long operational life in elevated temperatures, making it suitable for applications in electric vehicles, aerospace, industrial, and other sectors.
“These capacitors have been developed to meet the performance demands of extreme environments,” said Ed Sawyer, director of the ETI Capacitor Group. “They utilize a proprietary manufacturing process developed by Advanced Conversion, which contributes to reduced equivalent series inductance (ESL) and incorporates a fail-safe mechanism.”
According to the company, the new capacitors may serve as alternatives to large wet tantalum capacitor banks by offering higher efficiency, lower parasitics, broader temperature tolerance, and specific failure characteristics suited to critical applications.
