High-power connectors handle up to 450 A in EV systems

By Michelle Froese | August 26, 2026

Mouser Electronics is now shipping Amphenol Industrial’s TS1 series of single-pole high-power connectors for electrified transportation and energy systems.

The sealed, high-voltage connector platform is designed for high-current power links in applications, including electric vehicle (EV) batteries, inverters, power distribution units, dc/dc converters, pumps, and electric drives.

The TS1 series includes 8-mm contacts rated up to 200 A and 12-mm contacts rated up to 450 A. The 8-mm versions are rated up to 1,500 Vdc, while the 12-mm connectors support up to 2,000 Vdc.

The connectors accommodate cable sizes from 35 to 120 mm², with versions available for individually shielded conductors.

A metal-shell design provides electromagnetic interference shielding for systems using high-frequency switching devices. The connectors also meet IP6K9K ingress-protection requirements for exposure to road spray and high-pressure washdown.

The TS1 series is rated for up to 500 mating cycles and validated for 20 g vibration. Its operating temperature range extends from -40° to 125° C.

For EV applications, the high-voltage and current ratings make the series suitable for power distribution between major drivetrain and battery-system components, while the sealing and vibration specifications address under-hood and chassis-mounted environments.
