Forum Mobility announced plans to begin construction of four electric truck charging depots in California, adding 30 MW of heavy-duty charging capacity.
The sites will be located in Northern and Southern California and will include pull-through charging lanes equipped with Megawatt Charging System (MCS) hardware. Combined Charging System (CCS) ports will also be available.
The pull-through layout allows drivers to charge without disconnecting the chassis. Forum Mobility says the MCS equipment can provide up to a 60% range increase in approximately 30 minutes.
Tesla will operate public Megacharging sites at three Forum Mobility locations in California. At the company’s Santa Fe site in Rancho Dominguez, Forum Mobility has also contracted fleet capacity for more than 330 Tesla Semis while maintaining public access for commercial drayage operators.
Forum Mobility has added two Tesla MCS Megachargers to FM Harbor, its Port of Long Beach depot. The site began operating in December 2024 and includes 44 CCS charging ports with 9 MW of total capacity.
The company is also developing additional heavy-duty charging depots in California and other major freight markets across the US.
Forum Mobility reports contracted charging capacity with 25 carriers and more than 40 MW of CCS and MCS charging capacity either online or under construction.
The depots are being developed near ports and major freight corridors to support electric Class 8 truck operations.
