Nano One Materials, a process technology company specializing in lithium-ion battery cathode active materials, recently completed its participation in the Arkansas Lithium Technology Accelerator (ALTA), the first US-based initiative focused on building a resilient domestic lithium-ion battery supply chain.
Through ALTA, Nano One strengthened its US presence, expanded its industrial and government relationships, and advanced recognition of its One-Pot process for localizing lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cathode production in North America. LFP is an increasingly important chemistry for electric vehicles (EVs), stationary energy storage systems, defense, and grid applications, due to its durability, safety, and cost advantages.
Backed by Standard Lithium, the Walton Family Foundation, and state partners, ALTA connects emerging technology providers with government, academic, and industrial stakeholders to accelerate the sourcing critical battery materials. Participation in ALTA provided Nano One with direct engagement across government, industry, academia, and investors, including tours of Standard Lithium’s demonstration facilities.
Arkansas’ lithium resources, pro-business policies, and history in natural resource development position the state as a strong partner for developing the midstream segment of the EV battery supply chain, converting raw lithium into cathode materials.
Nano One’s One-Pot process vertically integrates precursor preparation with cathode production, reducing cost, eliminating foreign-controlled inputs, and minimizing wastewater byproducts. This process enables modular, scalable deployment of localized cathode active material (CAM) production in North America, directly linking upstream lithium resources to downstream cell manufacturing.
With support from ALTA, Nano One has broadened its US network and reinforced its role as a key contributor to the onshoring LFP cathode production and strengthening supply chain resilience for the EV and energy storage industries.
