EVSTART acknowledged the Government of Canada’s recent launch of a national automotive strategy focused on supporting the transition to electric vehicles (EV) and related infrastructure. The strategy outlines measures aimed at increasing EV adoption, strengthening domestic automotive manufacturing and expanding charging availability.
The federal strategy also includes updated greenhouse gas emissions standards intended to increase the share of EVs in new vehicle sales to 75% by 2035 and 90% by 2040. It introduces a five-year, $2.3 billion EV Affordability Program to support vehicle purchases and leases, along with $1.5 billion in planned investments through the Canada Infrastructure Bank to expand the national EV charging network.
As EV adoption increases, access to dependable charging infrastructure remains a key requirement alongside vehicle affordability. Public reporting in Canada has shown that a significant portion of public charging attempts are unsuccessful due to equipment outages, availability issues, or performance limitations.
EVSTART, a subsidiary of Wyse Meter Solutions, designs and delivers EV charging infrastructure for multi-residential and commercial properties in collaboration with property owners, developers and public sector partners. The company’s work focuses on deploying charging systems in locations where drivers rely on daily access, including apartment buildings and mixed-use developments.
EVSTART’s charging deployments emphasize operational reliability in residential and commercial settings where consistent charger access is necessary for daily vehicle use. The company continues to focus on supporting EV adoption through infrastructure designed for long-term use and expansion.
