EVgo plans to deploy V4 fast chargers across its US network, expanding high-power charging options for electric vehicles (EVs) equipped with either the North American Charging Standard (NACS) or Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors.
The chargers will operate at up to 500 kW and 1,000 V. Tesla’s Magic Dock technology will allow CCS and NACS-equipped vehicles to connect without requiring drivers to carry a separate adapter.
Features include:
- Charging power of up to 500 kW
- Voltage capability of up to 1,000 V
- Native CCS and NACS compatibility
- Longer cables to accommodate different charging-inlet locations
EVgo expects deployments to begin in fall 2026, with the first sites becoming operational during the second half of the year. The chargers will also appear in Tesla’s in-vehicle navigation system, allowing compatible vehicles to route directly to participating EVgo locations.
The company said the chargers can add up to 200 miles of range in 15 minutes, although actual charging performance will depend on vehicle capability, battery condition, and operating conditions.
EVgo is also developing an advanced charging architecture at its Innovation Lab in El Segundo, California. The first units using that platform are expected to be installed by the end of 2026. The expansion is intended to increase access to high-power public charging while supporting the growing number of EVs equipped with NACS connectors.
