EV charging platform successfully completes SOC 2 Type II certification

By Michelle Froese | February 6, 2025

Driivz, an EVolve e-mobility portfolio company of Vontier and global software supplier to electric vehicle (EV) charging operators and service providers, announced it has completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II audit.

Conducted by PwC, the audit officially audits Driivz’s EV Charging and Energy Management Platform as adherent to the strictest standards for protecting sensitive user and operational data. This milestone underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to data security, privacy, and compliance.

The SOC 2 Type II certification, established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), verifies that Driivz has implemented rigorous controls to safeguard customer data over an extended period, ensuring ongoing security, availability, and confidentiality following industry best practices.

Driivz is committed to ensuring a safer, more resilient future for EV infrastructure. Its control environment ensures that charging networks and drivers remain protected against cybersecurity threats while handling sensitive customer data such as billing invoices, driver personally identifiable information (PII), charging session details, and energy usage data.

As the EV market grows, data protection and cybersecurity are critical for charging network operators, fleet managers, and energy providers. This attestation report assures Driivz’s partners that their sensitive data is protected against unauthorized access, breaches, and operational disruptions.

With SOC 2 Type II compliance, Driivz further solidifies its position as a trusted partner for scalable, secure, and future-ready EV charging solutions, empowering businesses worldwide to accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation with confidence.

Driivz’s certification verifies its smart cloud-based platform’s compliance with the security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy Trust Services Criteria (TSC), as outlined by the AICPA.

The benefits of SOC 2 Type II certification for Driivz’s EV charging network partners include:

  • Enhanced security for sensitive information and operational data
  • Regulatory compliance with national data protection laws such as the GDPR and CCPA
  • Improved system reliability and availability that minimizes downtime and improves customer satisfaction
  • Supported scalability and growth while maintaining high security and privacy standards

Driivz’s EV Charging and Energy Management Platform is developed with a security-by-design approach. It not only supports the ongoing EV transition today, but also ensures the long-term trust and reliability required for a fully electrified transportation future. Driivz currently manages more than 104,000 public chargers across the globe, for millions of EV drivers.
