Wise-integration, a pioneer in digital control for gallium nitride (GaN) and GaN IC-based power supplies, has partnered with Savoy International Group to introduce a new silicon carbide (SiC) power demonstrator model.
The collaboration underscores Wise-integration’s expansion into complementary wide-bandgap (WBG) technologies and demonstrates the universality of its WiseWare digital controller across both GaN and SiC platforms.
This new SiC-based onboard charger (OBC) prototype marks a key step in Wise-integration’s entry into high-voltage automotive and industrial applications. The demonstrator validates WiseWare as a cross-compatible digital control solution, offering flexibility, efficiency, and intelligent performance in next-generation power systems regardless of the underlying semiconductor material.
The project builds on Wise-integration’s 2023 collaboration with Savoy International, a Tier 1 automotive supplier whose e-mobility division deployed a GaN charger embedded in e-bike batteries under its KILOW brand. The new SiC demonstrator has been developed to support Savoy’s broader electrification roadmap, including the launch of a light, four-wheel electric vehicle.
SiC technology is known for high thermal performance, efficiency under heavy loads, and ruggedness, making it well-suited for demanding automotive components such as traction inverters and fast chargers. By integrating WiseWare into this SiC-based application, Wise-integration highlights its digital controller’s scalability and adaptability to a range of power semiconductor environments.
The partnership reinforces both companies’ commitment to advancing accessible, sustainable mobility through innovative WBG technologies.
