Today’s electric vehicles operate at voltages approaching 1000 Vdc, engineers need to monitor and record those voltages during tests.
B+K Precision has added the D18-HVM4 high-voltage, 4-channel input module to its DAS1800 modular data recorder. The D18-HVM4 adds four channels capable of measuring DC voltages to ±1500 V and ac voltages to 1000 VRMS.
Each of the four channels uses two BNC connectors for differential measurements. The module has 16-bit resolution and samples at up to 1 Msa/sec with 10 MΩ input impedance.
The DAS1800 holds up to 10 input modules. Other modules include:
- 4-channel, ±600 VDC, 1 MΩ input impedance.
- 4-channel, ±600 VDC, 10 MΩ input impedance.
- 8-channel ±48 VDC, multiplexed, 5 ksa/sec, 2 MΩ input impedance.
The DAS1800 also measures temperature and it provides +3.3, +5, +12, or +24 V excitation voltages for sensors. It can display all channels on its 15.6-in. display and store data on its 2 TB solid-state drive (SSD). It’s ac-line powered with a battery option for remote monitoring, crucial for EV testing.
