TDK Corporation recently introduced the EPCOS B3292xM3/N3 series of X2 EMI suppression capacitors, designed to support high-reliability applications, including automotive on-board chargers (OBCs) and industrial energy storage systems.
These capacitors are 20% smaller than previous models, making them well-suited for space-constrained EV power electronics while complying with Grade III Test B standards for temperature, humidity, and bias (THB).
With lead spacings from 15 to 37.5 mm and capacitance values ranging from 0.1 to 4.7 µF, the B3292xM3/N3 series meets AEC-Q200 standards, ensuring reliability in high-voltage automotive applications. Designed to withstand +85° C, 85% relative humidity, and extended ac voltage stress, these components enhance durability in on-board charging circuits, power inverters, and UPS systems.
With a 305 V ac rating, 630 V dc capability, and an operating temperature range of -40° to +110° C, these capacitors provide strong self-healing properties through their metallized polypropylene (MKP) dielectric. Their compact footprint and robust design help optimize EV power conversion efficiency while ensuring long-term EMI suppression reliability.
