Collaboration aims to advance SiC traction inverters for e-mobility

By Michelle Froese | May 9, 2025

CISSOID, a provider of high-reliability power semiconductor solutions, and EDAG Group, an independent engineering services provider for the automotive industry, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the development of next-generation silicon-carbide (SiC) traction inverters for e-mobility applications.

Key elements of the partnership include:

  • Joint development and integration of SiC-based inverter platforms optimized for high efficiency, power density, and long operational life
  • Engineering services covering inverter system design, thermal management, mechanical integration, functional safety, and EMC compliance
  • Accelerated development timelines enabled by access to proven hardware and software platforms
  • Technical support across the full development cycle, from concept to prototyping and vehicle integration

The partnership combines CISSOID’s expertise in SiC power modules and control solutions with EDAG’s experience in designing, integrating, and validating electric drivetrains. The collaboration is intended to support the growing demand for compact, efficient, and functionally safe traction inverters across the e-mobility sector.

Together, the companies aim to deliver comprehensive, ready-to-implement solutions for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers developing the next generation of electric powertrains.
