Charger design recognized as EV ecosystem expands

By Michelle Froese | May 16, 2025

Autel Energy offers a comprehensive suite of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions designed to meet the increasing demand for scalable, intelligent infrastructure. As global EV sales continue to rise, the need for fast, flexible, and integrated charging systems is becoming increasingly urgent across the fleet, commercial, and residential sectors.

Red Dot award

The company’s newly launched MaxiCharger Single Charger has received the 2025 Red Dot Design Award, an international honor that recognizes excellence in product design.

The award highlights the charger’s combination of functional durability, installation efficiency, and adaptability for evolving energy ecosystems.

Engineered to perform under full load in temperatures up to 45° C, the MaxiCharger Single is built with large-scale deployment in mind. Streamlined features include a five–minute one-click installation process and a 10-minute mass commissioning workflow. AI-driven load management allows more than 200 units to operate simultaneously, distributing power in real time based on site demand.

The system also supports advanced payment options such as Plug & Charge, AutoCharge, and POS kiosk integration, reflecting its alignment with emerging industry standards.

Integrated charging ecosystem

Autel’s broader ecosystem includes high-power dc chargers, advanced ac solutions, centralized cloud software, and tools for integrating solar and energy storage systems.

  • DC charging: Modular high-power systems from 40 to 1440 kW, supporting a range of use cases from fleet to public charging corridors.
  • AC charging: Commercial and residential solutions with dynamic load balancing for efficient energy use and site flexibility.
  • Cloud platform: A centralized system for monitoring, diagnostics, and load management, enabling real-time operational control and predictive maintenance. The platform supports ISO 15118 Plug & Charge and multiple payment options.
  • PV-ESS-EVSE integration: Combines energy generation, storage, and charging through AI-optimized scheduling to reduce energy costs and improve sustainability.

Autel’s platform approach is anchored by:

  • Series charger platform: A modular, upgradeable design spanning kilowatt to megawatt applications.
  • Cloud platform: An intelligent backend for managing system operations and user experience.

Together, these solutions are designed to support modern energy demands while enhancing deployment speed and site adaptability.
