ChargePoint updates software to support expanding EV charging networks

By Michelle Froese | November 17, 2025

ChargePoint has introduced a new version of its ChargePoint Platform, a flexible software system for managing and optimizing electric vehicle (EV) charging networks.

The platform supports operations ranging from single sites to large-scale deployments and integrates with diverse energy systems.

Developed for fleet operators, commercial customers, vehicle OEMs, charge point operators (CPOs), and energy providers, the platform has been deployed in various applications, including transit depots and highway corridors

Features include:

  • AI-driven optimization: Uses data from charging sessions, energy supply, and station health to optimize schedules, predict maintenance needs, and support dynamic pricing.
  • Waitlist management: Manages charging demand through virtual queues that notify drivers when a station becomes available.
  • Simplified station activation: Integrates with the ChargePoint Installer App to streamline onboarding and configuration for multiple charger types.
  • Monitoring and control: Provides dashboards, reports, and an AI-powered data assistant to track performance, troubleshoot issues, and support data-driven operations.
  • Energy management: Includes load balancing, demand response integration, renewable energy support, and utility rate optimization to reduce infrastructure and energy costs.
  • Pricing tools: Adjusts charging rates in real time based on demand, energy costs, or site objectives, with transparent configuration options.
  • Driver experience tools: Enables operators to monitor and address issues proactively, define usage policies, and maintain consistent service levels.
  • Software packages: Offered as CMS Suite (turnkey feature licenses) or CMS Studio (modular customization options).
  • Charger compatibility: Supports OCPP-compliant chargers from multiple manufacturers.
  • Cloud architecture: Built as a cloud-native system with modular scalability, integrated security, and continuous monitoring.
  • User interface: Redesigned UI with customizable dashboards, live analytics, guided workflows, and mobile access.

The ChargePoint Platform is now available to customers across fleet, commercial, and public charging sectors.
