Allego has introduced a new Allego App designed to simplify and standardize the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience across Europe.
The app provides access to more than 950,000 ac and dc charging points through Allego’s network and its roaming partners, consolidating everyday and long-distance charging into a single interface with clear pricing and no Allego markup on partner stations.
The platform is intended to address common challenges facing EV drivers, including unclear pricing, fragmented app ecosystems, and inconsistent charger availability. Through one app and one charge card, users can plan routes, view real-time prices and charger status, activate sessions, and select subscription options suited to different usage patterns.
Features include:
- Real-time pricing and availability
- Routing to nearby or long-distance charging locations
- Simple session activation, including Plug&Charge where supported
- Clear invoicing and live session information
- Access to more than 950,000 charging points
The app also enables additional functionality on the Allego network, such as access to its most competitive pricing, in-app discounts, and subscriptions for frequent users. The goal is to provide a consistent, transparent experience across ac destination charging and high-power dc corridors.
While the rollout is focused on Europe, the issues addressed (pricing transparency, network interoperability, and simplified session activation) mirror challenges seen in North America as charging infrastructure expands. The app reflects a broader industry shift toward unified platforms that reduce friction for drivers and improve access across roaming networks.
The Allego App integrates planning, navigation, and charging management into a single interface, supporting daily commutes, as well as long-distance travel.
