Advanced data acquisition unit enables precision EV component testing

By Michelle Froese | September 26, 2025

Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation recently released the SL2000 High-Speed Data Acquisition Unit, a new addition to the company’s ScopeCorder series, engineered to meet the demanding requirements of electric vehicle (EV) R&D, validation, and durability testing.

The SL2000 is a modular platform that combines the capabilities of a mixed signal oscilloscope and a data acquisition recorder, enabling engineers to capture fast electrical transients and long-term performance trends in a single system.

With sampling rates up to 200 MS/s, dual capture functionality, and support for up to 32 channels per unit, the SL2000 provides precise, synchronized measurements across inverters, motors, batteries, and vehicle networks.

Multiple units can be linked for expanded channel capacity, ensuring scalability for complex EV systems. The SL2000 also supports durability testing, multi-channel signal correlation, and in-vehicle bus decoding (CAN, CAN FD, and more), while its advanced isolation technology ensures noise resistance in harsh environments.

When combined with Yokogawa’s IS8000 integrated software platform, engineers can streamline data acquisition and accelerate evaluation workflows. Building on the success of the DL950 ScopeCorder, the SL2000 expands Yokogawa’s offering of high-performance measurement solutions for transportation electrification, renewable energy, and mechatronics.

Together, the ScopeCorder family delivers a comprehensive toolkit to help engineers improve energy efficiency, optimize system performance, and bring safer, higher-performing EV technologies to market faster.
